Weight Training Equipment
69When you first start out at exercising in general, everything can seem
to be a bit overwhelming. After all, there are hundreds of weight
training equipment that you can look at and all of them have different
prices and different purposes. Most people just throw their hands up
and they end up believing that it's cheaper to just go to a gym or
others are so intimidated that they just don't even start weight
training at all. The truth is that the whole process does not have to
be as confusing as it might seem. In fact, there is a greater chance
that you'll actually exercise if you have the equipment in your home
and it does not require you the commitment to get into a car and drive
all the way to a gym. Once you know the essential weight training
fitness equipment that you need without breaking your wallet you'll be
closer to the road of physical fitness.
If you're just starting
out then a great place to start is a simple weight bench. The weight
bench is much more safer for you to use on a regular basis then a
simple folding chair. Now, there are many different types of weight
benches that you can use from a flat weight bench to an inclined weight
bench. The great thing about most inclined weight benches is the fact
that they are adjustable and they have different attachments that can
be used which offers you many more different types of exercises to your
disposal. As far as price goes, weight benches can range in size so be
sure to look around a bit to find the right type of weight bench that
best fits your wallet and needs.
You're also going to need to
buy some weights. If you have the room you can buy a complete dumbbell
set which varies from something very light that is good for beginners
to the very heavy dumbbells for the more advanced user. If you're
looking to conserve on space there are some great dumbbells that you
can actually adjust the weight onto to decide how much weight that you
want to have on you dumbbell for that particular exercise. If you want
to do any type of free weights training then you will want to purchase
a weight bar as well as free weights. Keep in mind that purchasing free
weights that the bar itself usually will way around 50 pounds so be
sure that you do not load up too much weight on the bar. Never try to
use free weights without having someone there to assist you.
Weight Training Machines
Another good example of weight training equipment is what is referred to as weight training machines. This type of equipment is much different than your traditional free weights. Depending on the various machines that you need to set up an ideal home gym, you are going to need to have a good amount of space for your weight training machines. You could always decide to purchase space saver weight training machines but those are usually a lot more expensive than their counterparts. Examples of weight training machines would be exercises that allow you to perform: lat pull down, leg extension, bicep curl, leg curl, bench press, and low row. Weight training resistance will definitely vary from machine to machine. They all use different methods for providing resistance. Some like to use weight plates while others use flexible rods that have various levels of stiffness. Even some weight training equipment on the exercise market allow you to use your own body weight combined with the natural gravity to create the desired resistance.
How do you know which is best?
So how do you know which type of weight training equipment is right for your own personal home gym? There are really three the factors for you to consider before setting up your weight training equipment:
1. Your experience level - are you brand new two weight training exercise and or would you consider yourself to be a veteran. If you're new to weight training, then you may want to be certain that you know how to properly use the weight equipment before spending a lot of money out of pocket. Just because the commercial sounds good or you like the results people are getting, does not necessarily mean that it is ideal for you.
2. Your budget - money is a another critical factor to selecting the right type of weight training equipment. There are of course cheaper models but they don't always last as long as you want them to nor do they are they made with the same type of quality. Try to find the right type of balance because some training equipment can be very expensive.
3. Space available - before purchasing a bunch of equipment for your home, be certain that you know the dimensions of the exercise equipment. Most equipment will take up a lot more room than you realize and you need to be certain that your training equipment is a readily accessible or you'll never end up using it.
